“Who are we not reaching and why?” This is a question we regularly ask ourselves because continuing to reach lost people is of the utmost importance. The next generation is ever on our minds and hearts. Madison Park Christian Church has been, is, and will continue to be committed to reaching lost people through the gospel, maturing Christians and sending out Kingdom workers. God continues to bless us with growth and responsibility within our church and community.
It is time we add more focused resources, passion and giftedness to help shoulder the load leading us into the future. As we envision an even stronger future, we remain committed to our mission of facilitating life change. We will seek to engage our community and the surrounding area through relational, team-based leadership that provides people the opportunity to encounter God in meaningful ways, connect with God’s people around His Word and to serve–each other, the community and the world.
God has blessed Madison Park and we desire to be good stewards of the responsibilities that come with blessings. We are asking Tyler Myers to become the team lead for both our leadership team and our preaching team. We believe that Tyler’s passion and giftedness in fostering team-based leadership will continue to grow relationship-based ministry in the future.
Tyler and Chuck Sackett will be partnering together on the preaching team to strengthen the breadth and depth of our intergenerational Sunday morning encounter ministry experience. Tyler and Keith Ehresman will serve alongside each other on the leadership team to provide vision, strategy and equipping to the ministry work of our church. The elders will continue to oversee both of these teams and our ministry staff. This natural progression is a direct response to God’s movement within our church and the desire to grow into an even stronger future!

Frequently Asked Questions:
Why change? Why now?
The eldership sees this more as a natural progression than a change. Madison Park Church is passionate about life change. We are passionate about equipping believers to mature in Christ and helping lost people find their hope in Christ. In looking at where we have been, where we are and where we dream of going, we prayerfully and thoroughly examined what would be most beneficial in helping this generation be best prepared to walk alongside the next generation in finding their voice with God through the church.
How will Madison Park Church be led moving forward?
Madison Park will continue to have elders, as the lead shepherds, making sure we are wisely stewarding the gospel message with which we have been entrusted. The elders will continue to oversee all staff to ensure we remain focused on facilitating life change through helping people encounter God in meaningful ways, connect with God’s people around His Word and serve–each other, the community and the world.
What do we mean by ‘preaching and leadership team’?
Madison Park currently uses Chuck, Keith and Tyler to fulfill both the preaching and leadership team responsibilities. It is our desire to move into an even stronger team approach to both of these ministry areas to give them the time, attention and resources they deserve. Thus, Tyler and Chuck will focus on preaching team responsibilities, which primarily functions in leading the church through our corporate encounter experiences. Tyler and Keith’s attention will be on the leadership team that equips and empowers ministry leaders to fulfill Madison Park Church’s mission, vision and strategy.
When will we experience these transitions?
Actually, we have already been experiencing this. At Madison Park Church we see ministry as an ongoing process. We want to remain listening and flexible to what and where we sense God is directing us. This has been a process and will continue in that manner. We started working as a leadership team about 7 years ago and as a preaching team 4 years ago. You will experience the 2019-year being similar to 2017 and 2018. Most notably you will feel a shift between Chuck and Tyler, as the primary voice in 2020. Chuck will continue to be a high-level contributor to our preaching team beyond 2020.
What can I do to be helpful?
Continue to prayerfully walk in meaningful relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit with your church community. We are better together and we are in this adventure together. Commit to trusting God, championing what He has called our church to, and invite people to come alongside of us for the journey ahead.
What if I have more questions?
Join us on Sunday mornings as we continue to seek God and listen to His leading. Trust that the elders, Chuck, Keith and Tyler have thoroughly wrestled through these decisions. Feel free to talk to the elders or staff with any of your questions.
